Tab Sunset List is a local-first browser extension. We designed it so its core job does not require a server or an account.

What the extension stores

The extension stores the URLs and titles of tabs you deliberately tag, your optional rationale, expiry dates, saved outcomes, and the most recently closed item for undo. This data is held in your browser’s local extension storage.

What leaves your device

Nothing from the extension is transmitted to us. There is no analytics SDK, advertising identifier, cloud sync, or browsing-history endpoint. Bookmark actions use your browser’s built-in bookmark API.

Permissions

• Tabs: read the active tab you choose to tag, close decided tabs, and reopen the last closed tab.
• Storage: keep your queue and saved decisions locally.
• Bookmarks: create a “Tab Sunset List” bookmark folder when you choose that outcome.
• Alarms: refresh the due-count badge periodically.

Deleting your data

Removing the extension clears its local extension storage according to your browser’s behavior. Bookmarks you explicitly created remain under your control and can be removed in the browser’s bookmark manager.

This website

This static website uses no cookies, tracking pixels, analytics, third-party fonts, or third-party runtime scripts. Its service worker caches public site files on your device so the policy remains available offline.

Issues can be filed in the project’s public source repository. If this policy changes, its effective date and repository history will show the change.
